AGROPELTER (Northern United States & Lower Canada)
Like the Jackalope, folklorists see the Agropelter as belonging to a group of “Tall Tale animals known as fearsome Critters”. Many tales have been stitched together about this defender of the forest around campfires from Maine to Oregon (top of the USA).*
It is said they are elusive creatures who dwell in hollow trees and throw sticks and splinters at lumberjacks and others who disturb their forests.
