BASILISK (Greece)

In European bestiaries and legends, a basilisk is a legendary reptile reputed to be a serpent king, who causes death to those who look into its eyes. This was the inspiration for the poem, COCOA with a BASILISK.

Basilisks are said to have a few weaknesses, the scent of a weasel for example, or as depicted in the poem, BASILISK BESTED, the crow of a rooster.
