CALADRIUS (Rome, Italy)
The caladrius, from medieval European folklore, embodies healing.
When the caladrius looks into the face of a sick person, it means the person will live, but if it looks away, the person will die. It’s possible for this giant, white bird to draw the sickness into itself, and if it does, it will fly up high towards the sun, where the sickness will be burned in the flames.
