CHULLACHAQUI (Brazil & Peru)
Chullachaqui means “one-footed” or “odd-footed word in Quechua, a language native to parts of South America.
This creature has one human-like foot and one hoof or one backward foot. He roams around the interior of the Amazon rainforest looking for lost people and luring them deeper into the forest. The story there changes, depending on where you hear it. Sometimes he’s just being mischievous, sometimes he’s going to capture your soul and use it to make the Amazon rainforest a busier, better place.
