After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, Elaine D’Alessandro taught kindergarten and first grade for nineteen years. Later, she completed three graduate courses through the Institute of Children’s Literature; an experience she feels contributes to her writing successes today.


Elaine enjoys writing children’s fiction, and non-fiction short stories inspiring adults. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and has four children and five grandchildren.

Her work has appeared in children’s magazines, three Writers’ Loft anthologies, and two Chicken Soup for the Soul anthologies.

She enjoys gardening, snowshoeing, mountain climbing, and walking by the ocean.
