FAIRIES (faerie/faery)

Fairies are mythical beings of folklore and romance usually having magic powers and dwelling on earth in close relationship with humans.

Sometimes fairies are woman-shaped, wearing flouncy gowns, sometimes they are tiny creatures who live in flowers, mushrooms, or underground. Most of the time they have wings.

Sometimes fairies like to intervene in human’s lives, usually for the best. But not all the time, like in the poem Fairy Counsel by Amanda Smith. (It’s in The Scary Section for a reason!)

We have a few cousins of fairies in this book, including Asrai and Dryads.
