HAG (Scotland)
A hag is an evil woman or frightening spirit. Other words for hag could be crone or even witch.
She generally is old and up to evil doings, like Baba Yaga from Slavic culture who eats children and lives in a house that stands on chicken legs.
But hags aren’t always evil. The Morrígan in Irish folklore, a close cousin of the hag, isn’t purely bad or good. The cailleach in Scottish folklore is a goddess concerned with the harvest and the weather.
