KELPIE (Scotland)
Think all horses are nice? Think again!
WARNING:
DO NOT PET THE kelpies!
Enjoy the Scottish countryside but do not trample the flora or pet the fauna. Many of our local beasties are nasty little (or large) critters. We have selkies and fairies, trolls and peat hags, all wishing to do you harm. But, worst of all, we have kelpies. These creatures are magnificent and mesmerizing, but, they are also malevolent. If you see a great dark horse by the water, keep your distance. And whatever you do, no matter how much you want to, do not pet the kelpies.
We repeat: Do Not Pet The Kelpies. They are shapeshifters and will drag you into the water to drown.
The Good News: If you manage to get the bridle of a kelpie, you can control it and all other kelpies. How do you do that? If you figure it out, let us know.
