KRAKEN (Scandinavian)
The Kraken’s origin is Scandinavia. It’s usually described as a giant, aggressive squid-like creature that grabs ships and drags them under the sea, killing everyone aboard.
The story probably started when pieces of giant octopuses and squid washed up on shores in Norway and, not knowing what animal they were from, and never having seen anything like them, people made up exciting stories to explain what they saw.
Or it’s possible Kraken are real and just haven’t been photographed yet, like many hidden creatures.
