Krista Surprenant, pronounced Chris – Ta Surp – rah – not, (she/her) is an active member of SCBWI. She has an MFA in writing from Albertus Magnus College.
Her poetry has been printed in literary journals such as The SN Review, Blast Furnace Press and And/or Magazine, and The Guilford Poets Guild’s 20th Anniversary Anthology.
She also has a poem featured in the YA Sports Anthology Rhyme and Rhythm: Poems for Student Athletes published in 2021.
Her first novel manuscript, Remember Where You’re From, was a finalist in the Tassy Walden New Voices in Children’s Literature Award in 2018 and won the Susan P Bloom Discovery Award in 2019. It is being represented by DeFiore and Company Literary Management Group.
In her spare time, Krista enjoys reading and writing as well as traveling, and cooking. She spends as much time as she can with her ever-growing family of two enthusiastic boys, one energetic sister, a loyal golden retriever, and her supportive husband.
