Marie writes middle-grade and young-adult fiction.
Her published poems include a haiku in Writers’ Loft Press’ 2020 anthology, Friends & Anemones.
Marie loves music, singing, the outdoors, art, writing, dancing, yoga, whistling bird imitations, bubbles, kites, and crafts. But nothing makes her happier than hearing how young readers or artists use their own imaginations and abilities to create.
Hiking and observing birds, animals, and insects in nature all influence her writing.
Her poem Ratatoskr was inspired by the adorable, acrobatic, bright-eyed squirrels in her own
backyard. Most of all, she believes in the power of sunshine and laughter.
She has a B.A. in English Literature, magna cum laude, belongs to SCBWI and The
Writers’ Loft, and adores reading and listening to audiobooks.
