NAVAGUNJARA (India, and Hindu Mythology)
Navagunjara or Nabagunjara is a mythical creature composed of nine different animals in Hinduism.
According to legends, Navagunjara represents the manifestation of Vishnu, the Hindu god of Preservation.
Truly a masterpiece with the head of a rooster atop the neck of a peacock perched on the back of a bull that transitions to the waist of a lion encircled by the tail of a serpent all carried on four different limbs: in the rear, a deer leg paired with the leg of a tiger. In the front, an elephant’s leg & a raised human arm holding a lotus or a wheel.
