SEVEN-HEADED DRAGON (Calabria, Italy)

Here’s how my legend began:
It was November, 1528. There I was, at the fountain in Cerenzia with the other villagers, waiting for our daily ration of water.

Sure, I needed more, given my seven heads…
so maybe I tried to cut the line?
Or take more than my share?
Maybe I spit a little fire?

Tthe villagers (totally overreacted) and called on Saint Teodoro di Amasea to come to their rescue. Really, I was just thirsty— all that fiery breath, you know.

Now, every year they celebrate Saint Teodoro’s day of celebration on November 9. Can you believe it?
