SPECTER MOOSE (Maine, USA)
The Specter Moose, first reported in 1891, haunts the woods of northern Maine. According to lore, the ghostly-looking, enormous moose is unable to be caught or killed, has heightened senses, and appears before bad things happen.
Its name is derived from its white coloring. Legend has it towering 10-15 feet high and weighing in at nearly 2,500 pounds, 3x the size of the average moose in the 1800s.
