THE ZIZ (Middle East/Jewish Mythology)
The Ziz is a primeval monster of epic proportions! It was created at the beginning of time along with the sea-monster Leviathan and the land-monster Behemoth.
The Ziz is mentioned in Psalms and discussed at length in the Talmud. The rabbis say that if you drop an axe next to the Ziz while it’s standing in the ocean, the axe will fall for seven years before hitting the bottom.
Height: 31,000 feet – as high as a jet plane!
Wingspan: 64,800 feet – blocks out the sun!
Egg volume: 40 billion gallons – floods 60 cities!
Now, that’s a Big Bird!
